My Review

Ann Marie Walker, congratulations on this brilliant standalone!  I truly enjoyed reading all about Cole and Olivia, two characters who are so different, yet equally interesting in their own ways.  I was hooked on your book from the very beginning and made my own predictions as to what I thought would happen.  I could easily relate to both and that made the characters even more lovable.  Your story turned out to be one filled with humor, sexy moments, a spectacular setting and a cast of characters that are rom/com movie material.

A trip to Vegas turned into a marriage of convenience, sounds like fun?  Sure, I’ve read other books with this same premise but, this one is a light hearted, fun read, the kind you want to finish in one sitting and discuss with your best friend.  Cole and Olivia must make this unexpected marriage appear real, that is if Cole’s grandma has anything to do with it.  There is this legal clause, well…  and some bats. I don’t want to spoil it for you.  I promise this story is going to make you laugh.  The chemistry and banter between these two characters is awesome.   I’m glad that Ann Marie decided to go with the romantic comedy genre.  She is a natural and produced a fantastic story.

Black Tie Optional is a perfect Summer Beach read.

Author Bio:

BT URRUELA was an infantryman in the US Army from August 2004 until February 2011. At the end of a year long tour to Baghdad, Iraq, his vehicle was hit by two roadside bombs, which took his right leg below the knee and the life of his commander. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his wounds, an Army Commendation Medal, and Combat Infantryman’s Badge. He medically retired from the Army in 2011 and moved to Tampa, FL where he currently works as a Director and Brand Ambassador for VETSports, a veteran community sports nonprofit he co-founded in 2012. Have you ever wondered what’s inside your favorite author’s bag/purse/backpack?  Do they carry books, their iPads, coupons, inspirational pictures, etc.?

At any given time, I have no less than 3 lip glosses in my purse. Lancome Juicy Tubes – Spring Fling is my summer fave. I also have a serious problem with Sephora.

Deodorant – full size. Those travel ones are for babies. If you know me, you know I always have it with me and apply it 5,202,948,985 times a day #crazypants

Read of the day – depending on how much time I have to sit and read, I usually have a paperback and my iPad with the Nook app loaded up.

Pens – I’m a pen snob. I need very fine points because I’m crazypants but I need to have a good super fine point with me at all times.

Erin Condren planner – because I would honestly forget my head if it wasn’t attached!

Perfume – I have some sort of psycho sensitive nose and any kind of yucky smell drives me nuts. Hello, NYC subway grates. I carry some sort of small perfume with me. This is Jo Malone, which I LOVE

Headphones – Because I like to listen to podcasts when I walk to the school to get my son. (These clearly aren’t the ones I use every day because they’re neat and still pristinely packaged. The others are a wadded up mess LOL

Lotion – It puts the lotion on the skin.

“So, you’re looking forward to the week, then?” I ask expectantly, while the palm of my hand gently rubs the zipper-tight area of his pants. God, he’s so hard. My Review 

I love to read trilogies and The Chasing Fire Trilogy immediately skyrocketed to the top of my 2015 favorite books list. You see Ann Marie and Amy created this amazing series that captivated me from the very start.  Their muse or inspiration for their male protagonist Hudson, was David Gandy.  Enough said. Wow! I’m a Gandy girl and I will tell you, he is the perfect Hudson.   Trust me, this is a series I am sure you will love.

Reclaim Me is the final book in this trilogy. This book picks up where the last book leaves you, hanging and full of angst.  Alessandra and Hudson are in France.  Harper, Allie’s best friend has flown to meet her there.  And, the arrogant French ass Julian is back with his own agenda for Allie and Hudson.

Once back in Chicago, Allie and Hudson have plenty to deal with.  Julian is making sure Allie complies with his plan.  Many revelations are made along the way.  Lets just say, life becomes more complicated for Allie and Hudson.  (no spoilers)

Allie wants to protect Hudson and Nick while Hudson wants to protect Allie.

Hudson continues to be the commanding alpha male I love so much while still showing a lighter and more humorous side.  Look out for some fun and sexy text messages along the way too. Hudson also knows how to romance his lady.  Yes, Hudson even dabbles in poetry. He will stop at nothing to show his love for Allie.

One of the reasons why I enjoyed this book so much is because all of the secondary characters stand out.  We learn more about them and ultimately love them more.  They truly play important roles in Hudson and Allie’s lives. They help to make this story complete.

Nick, Hudson’s brother is on the right track.  And, if you made the same prediction I made in Release Me, you’ll be thrilled to learn more about his personal/love life in this book.  His relationship with Hudson is stronger as well.  I loved the sibling bonding, especially a certain bow tie scene.  I’d love to read more about Nick in another book. (Please)

Collin, Allie’s assistant proves to be a great friend too.  He’s always had Allie’s back and turns out to be an invaluable and trustworthy employee as well.

Harper, the bff.  She’s sassy and full of life. I’ve always loved her and I was excited to see how her personal life unfolded as well. Let’s just say, Harper and Allie have similar taste in men.

(As an Ian Somerhalder fan, I loved the bar scene. Just saying. 🙂 )

Prepare yourself for a thrill ride through Chicago.  You’ll find adventure,  love, angst, humor, hope, romance, revelations from the past, friendship, an adorable puppy, and lots and lots of steamy sex in this final book.

Will Allie and Hudson find their happily ever after?

Writing this review was bittersweet and difficult.  I didn’t want Hudson and Allie’s story to end and at the same time, I wanted to share the story with you.  But, I can’t spoil it.  You will have to get the book/series and read for yourself.  You won’t be disappointed.

I loved all of the books in this series. However, Reclaim Me is my favorite. The intensity of their love, their passion and unwavering pursuit for a happy ending makes this such a spectacular read.

What’s In The Author’s Bag? Kyra Davis reveals…. @_KyraDavis

 

Ever wondered what’s inside your favorite author’s bag/purse/backpack?  Do they carry books, their iPads, coupons, inspirational pictures, etc.?

Kyra Davis revealed the contents of her purse for all to see and explained why she carries them.

Okay, from left to right:

1) I always carry a compact mirror, because in the age of camera phones you never know when you have to check to see if there’s spinach in your teeth.

2) I have my wallet for obvious reasons.

3) My phone that has my entire life on it from my schedule to my pictures to my music, ebooks, so on and so forth. I carry floss (see #1 for why)

4) La Mer lip balm, the best lip balm on EARTH

5) Nars lipstick in Tanganyka

6) Chanel Gossimer lipgloss in Scintillantes for when I want a little shine

7) L’Ocitane hand cream so my hands only age three times faster than my face, rather than ten times faster.

8) Allergy meds because you never know when a wind will pick up, blow some pollen in your face and drive you into sinus-pressure hell.

9) Hiding under my mirror is my Advil, for those times when the allergy meds aren’t enough to stave off a sinus headache.

10) Under all of it is a packet of kleenex because my allergies are the bane of my existence. It’s really very sad.
