It is frigging amazing!

Read my 5 star review below.

In the fourth sexy romance by the New York Times bestselling author of Tangled and Twisted, Drew and Kate can’t wait to tie the knot—if they can survive the pre-wedding festivities.

For most of my life, I never imagined I’d get married. But Kate did the impossible: she changed me. I think we can all agree I was pretty frigging awesome before, but now I’m even better.

The road to this day wasn’t all rainbows and boners. There were mistakes and misunderstandings worthy of a Greek tragedy. But Kate and I made it through with our inexhaustible lust, boundless admiration, and everlasting love for one another intact.

That being said, there were some unexpected incidents in Vegas last weekend that could have been a problem. It was kind of… my final test.

I know what you’re thinking—what the hell did you do this time? Relax. Let’s not judge, or call for my castration, until you’ve heard the whole story.

And hold on tight, because you’re in for a wild ride. Did you expect anything less?

My 5 star Review

5 stars

Reading Tied was a bittersweet experience for me.  I was excited to read the final book in this series but sad to see it come to an end.  I feel like I have known these amazing characters for years.  Emma’s brilliant writing brought them to life in an unforgettable way.  Reading this series, and listening to several of the books on audio has been an amazing journey.

Tied is written in Drew’s point of view and I must say that is the best way to end this series.  What started with Drew, a character I truly adore ends with him in total Drew Evans style.

In Tied, Drew and Kate are finally getting married.  Their baby James has grown into an adorable toddler.   All of their close friends and family are back too, making their own appearances keeping this story light, entertaining and complete.

Drew shows off his parenting skills, “Drew style” of course.  Some of my favorite moments are those with Drew and his baby boy.  Their father son conversations were awesome and had me laughing and smiling from ear to ear. Remember, we’re talking Drew here.  You can only imagine the conversations he has with his son.  After all, his uncle/niece conversations with Mackenzie in previous books were pretty funny too.

So what’s a wedding without a proper Bachelor/Bachelorette party/send off for the bride and groom?  Well, Kate, Drew and the gang are off to Vegas for that last weekend before tying the knot. Their trip to Vegas turns out to be one funny and interesting experience.  Oh…and the unexpected happens in Vegas too. (no spoilers here). Kate, proves to be quite a tough cookie.  Did I mention that Billy Warren goes along with them on their trip?  Yes, Kate’s ex, that Billy Warren, joins in on the Vegas adventure too.  Drew and Billy’s Vegas bonding experience was another one of my favorite parts of this book.

“See this ring? It means I belong to him.  And the tattoo of my name on his arm means he belongs to me. All of him. His dick is a compass, and I’m due north- it only points to me.”

“Now, young Skywalker, your training is complete. Tonight-you become a Jedi.”

While the wedding is the main focus of this book, each character has their own little story in this book.  Alexandra and Stephen have their own issues to deal with.  Dee Dee and Matthew have their own news.  Mackenzie is growing fast and proving that she is both the daughter of Alexandra and the niece of “The Drew Evans.”  Drew’s secretary Erin and his friend Jack join in on the fun too. All of their stories sprinkled in make this last book in a series perfect.  All of these dynamic characters play important roles in the success of this series.

“You and I are my gold standard. You’re the only reason I’m not shitting my pants about marrying Kate next week. Because you’re my proof that marriage can actually work.”

Kate and Drew’s wedding takes place in my favorite New York City Church, St. Patrick’s Cathedral.  A Perfect wedding for a perfect couple is what readers expect and Emma did not disappoint.  Some of my favorite moments in the wedding included the flower girl and ring bearer walking down the aisle.  A perfectly planned wedding is what these two get in Tied. From the vows to the reception, this wedding made me shed a few happy tears while reading.  (I cry at weddings) The wedding toast and first dances, such personal moments were flawless.  I felt all kinds of emotions reading this book.

Emma, thank you for creating such a fantastic series, one that I enjoy listening to and reading over and over.

I gave this book 5 frigging stars and highly recommend it!

Audio books – I love them!

Audio books, I love them!

audio image

I love to sit back and enjoy a great book, but there are times when audio books come in handy.

I love audio books!  First of all, I can multitask.  Yes, I find myself doing things around my home while listening to an audio book.  I can cook, bake, garden, etc. while enjoying the words of my favorite authors. I feel total disconnected from the world around me once those headsets come on.

Secondly, some books are just amazing to listen to.  I admit I have read and reread Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture by Sylvain Reynard many times, but the audio versions are amazing.  There is something about listening to the intonation and the emotions of the characters as the book is being read to you.  The characters come alive.

Other books that I have read but loved even more after listening to the audio were Tangled by Emma Chase, Beautiful Bastard and Beautiful Player by Christina Lauren and The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

The two most recent books I listened to on audio were Sempre and Sempre Redemption by J.M. Darhower which I just finished last night.  These books top my list of favorites. Listening to the Italian words/the pronunciations, the language, and most importantly, the emotions was incredible.  If you are looking to start audio books, this is a series I highly recommend and will be reviewing real soon.

For me, audio books make stories come alive.  Whether you are listening at home, in your car, while walking your dog or folding your clothes, the experience is truly wonderful.

What are your thoughts on audio books?

Feel free to comment.

Happy Reading and Happy Listening!

HOLY FRIGGING MATRIMONY by Emma Chase
SUMMARY
What does Drew Evans have to say next? Find out in this forty page short story, filled with his sexy charm, unique advice and hilarious one-liners.

Marriage: the final frontier. Steven went first. He was kind of our test subject. Like those monkeys that NASA sent off into space in the fifties, all the while knowing they’d never make it back.

And now another poor rocket is ready to launch.

But this isn’t just any posh New York wedding. You’ve seen my friends, you’ve met our families, you know you’re in for a treat. Everyone wants their wedding to be memorable. This one’s going to be un-frigging-forgettable.

Review – Twisted by Emma Chase – Blog Tour

Twisted (The Tangled Series) by Emma Chase Blog Tour

twisted cover

Synopsis:

Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. In this heart-pounding follow-up to Tangled by New York Times bestseller Emma Chase, Kate reveals that there is trouble in paradise, when unexpected circumstances force her and Drew to “renegotiate” their relationship.

There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself—and of me.

But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice; the most important of my life. Drew already made hisin fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville, Ohio, alone. Well, sort of alone…

What I’ve come to realize is that old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead.

My Review:

Let me begin by telling you that I had the pleasure of both reading and listening to the audio of Tangled by Emma Chase.  It was awesome!  Tangled introduced me to one of my favorite book boyfriends, Drew Evans. If you haven’t met him yet, get on it right now.   Tangled was written in Drew’s witty male point of view on life, dating and love.  Drew met the lovely Kate and fell in love.  They are one of my favorite couples and their story continues.

Holy Frigging Matrimony was wonderful too.  You must read these before reading Twisted.

Now, on to Twisted.

Well,  Emma has done it again.  This is another amazing book.  Seriously, I couldn’t put it down. Twisted is a little different.  You see, it is written in Kate’s point of view. The story of Kate and Drew continues after two years of dating.  All of the characters from Tangled are back.  I loved meeting them in the first book. Dee Dee and Matthew are married.  Mackenzie has grown and continues to be such an important little lady in their lives. Drew’s sister Alexandra and her husband are back too, with news of their own. Even Billy reappears.  More on Billy later. Together, all of these characters along with Kate and Drew make this such a perfect story.

So, Are you ready for the twist?  Well, sit down and enjoy the ride.  This story is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat and teach you a little bit about the importance of clear communication along the way. You see, a simple misunderstanding can lead to well…. (no spoilers)

Kate has gone back to Greenville, her home town. Of course, she runs into Billy Warren, her ex. I must say though, he has grown on me. He demonstrated a mature side which made him more likeable. That “misunderstanding,” it is the reason Kate goes back home. That same misunderstanding,  is what will keep you on the edge of your seat for most of the story.

There are so many parts of this story that I really loved. For example, I really enjoyed the alphabetical naughty name calling.  I looked forward to the next letter to see what Kate would say.  I also really liked the time Kate spent with Billy in Greenville.  It made her realize so much about herself.    And, there were many moments of angst and drama as well, making this story different from Tangled.  As a writer, Emma has the ability to keep readers engaged almost as if they are watching the story unfold before their very eyes. That is how I felt while reading.  I was living the story and the moments along with Kate and Drew.

My favorite part of this book has got to be The Epilogue.  You see, The Epilogue is written in Drew’s point of view and well, I am a sucker for Drew.

I don’t want to give away the story because this is one book that you must read. You too will love the story of Kate and Drew. It just keeps getting better.

I look forward to reading more of Emma Chase’s words in Tamed, Tangled #3.

I gave this book 5 stars!!

I received an ARC from Gallery Books via NetGalley.

Some of my favorite lines:  (Spoiler Alert)

“God, baby–you give the best head.  You could teach a frigging class.”    …..Dick Lick 101.

“You’re not alone Kate.  And you never will be.  Not as long as I’m breathing.”

“Ugg– it’s Matthew.  I swear that boy can’t take a shit without calling to tell me what color it is.”

“Because I can’t live without you, Kate.  I don’t even know how to try.”

“Don’t let him fuck his way out of this one. Multiple orgasms are just a Band-Aid, not a cure.”

“In the last two years, I’ve probably told you a dozen times that I would do anything for you. It’s time I put up or shut up.”
