The up-and-coming matchmaking agency Kinnections is the hottest thing to hit Verily, New York—just like Kennedy Ashe, social director for the service she owns with her two best girlfriends. A coach, consultant, and cheerleader rolled into one super-sizzling package, Kennedy creates dream dates, encourages singles to shine, and never refuses a challenge—not even Nate Ellison Raymond Dunkle, rocket scientist, nerd extraordinaire, and Kennedy’s newest client.

Kennedy vows to work her magic and transform this hot mess in a lab coat with a disastrous relationship track record into the most wanted man on the Verily dating scene. If only she could turn the wand on herself . . .

Though she radiates confidence and sex appeal, Kennedy harbors deep-seated insecurities from a tormented past and lifelong struggle with weight issues. When she realizes she and Nate are cut from the same cloth and might be perfect together, can Kennedy learn to let her heart lead the way? Or will her fears sentence her to the sidelines as Nate finds love—with someone else?

My Review

Let me begin my review with these words, “Talk Nerdy to Me.”   In this second book Searching for Perfect by Jennifer Probst, we meet the newest client to the Kinnections agency, Nate.   Wait until you meet him.  You will just love him!

I am a true Jennifer Probst fan and this book just like her others once again gets 5 sexy stars from me. From the moment I started reading it, I knew it would be perfect. Jennifer knows just how to create well written and well loved characters.

This book follows the life of Kennedy, one of the Kinnections gals. The lovely Kennedy handles the makeovers at the agency.  Her newest client, Nate, is in real need of a makeover and she is ready to make him into Mr. Right. During his makeover period, they spend lots of time together and learn much about themselves as well.

Nate is a rocket scientist, looking for love, a wife.  He is the classic nerd right down to the pocket protector and lab coat. One of the things I loved most about him was the fact that he knew about the latest books and had read the latest magazines giving advice about women and relationships.  He had done his homework.  And, he knew ways to make a woman….well, let me not give this away. Underneath his nerdy appearance, waiting to be revealed was a “sexy” rocket scientist, sexy enough to spark some interest in Kennedy. I think Nate has become my favorite of Jennifer Probst’s male characters.  Really, there are so many things to love about Nate.  As a Star Wars fan myself, I absolutely adored  his drink selection at the bar.  This was one of my favorite parts of the book.  And yes, I now know how to make this drink.

I loved Kennedy, she is a lovely woman who has a wonderful relationship with her friends.  Friendship is an important theme in this book.  In fact, their strong friendship and support makes these ladies so enjoyable and their agency such a success.  Encounters with her friends are funny and real which makes this more than just a book.  I actually feel like I know these women.  They support Kennedy and even guide her along during this Nate makeover.

I love that Jennifer brings in characters from her other books.   I feel like I am keeping up with old book friends.  The very sexy Wolfe appears and develops a friendship with Nate.  I just adore Wolfe and hope he gets to be the lead in a future book. (Please….)

Funny moments at the hair salon with Benny and with Ming, the go to masseuse, made me laugh out loud.  I know you will too.

The encounters between Kennedy and Nate are funny, silly,  sweet and oh so sexy too.  It  is while Kennedy strives to make Nate over, that her own past issues resurface. I think issues about weight and appearance are important and I am glad that Jennifer included them in this book.  Kennedy and Nate both learn so much about themselves. Overall, this story is extremely well written.  I didn’t want to put this book down.  In fact, it would be great to get another book with more of this couple.

Searching for Perfect is the second book in this series but can be read as a stand alone.  For me, it is a “perfect” read.

If you are looking to read a romantic and fun story with the right amount of heat, Searching for Perfect is for you.

I gave this book 5 sexy stars!

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher.

An image of Clark Kent skittered in her vision. Geeky, clumsy, socially awkward, but underneath, hotness galore.  And she could do it; she sensed a wealth of appeal behind his veneer that she ached to unearth.
