My Review

Clever, Witty, Fun, Naughty and Oh sooo good!  Those are the words I can think of to describe Mina Vaughn’s second book  How To Reprimand Your Rock Star.  Let me tell you, I loved this book and am excited to share my review.

Mina writes amazing stories.  There is always something unexpected in her writing which is one of the reasons why I love to read her words.  From the moment I started this book, I couldn’t put it down.  Her characters are refreshing and different.  Pair a beautiful female basketball player with a hot rock star, throw in some kink, and you have a 5 star read.  From the first page to the last, you will enjoy every moment.

I loved Thea and enjoyed discovering a new word along with her.  She is not the typical fragile female.  She is focused on her athletic career and education.  Yes, she is an athlete.  Thea meets Keaton Lowe and he is totally swoonworthy.  Appropriate nicknamed Baby Blue, he “rocks” her world.  This sexy rockstar enters her life and gives new meaning to the term “Rock God.”

This is not your typical love story.  The Rock God may be used to taking the lead on stage,  but Thea proves to be the one in charge.

I highly recommend this book.  Be sure to add it to your TBR list today. You will love it!

My Review

Have you ever wondered what thoughts lurk inside the mind of a real life dominant?  If so, then I suggest you read Transports of Delight, a delicious collection of erotic short stories and poems written by Benjamin McQueen, a real life dom. This collection contains Making You Mine and other erotic delights.

Making You Mine  follows two characters, a dom and his sub as they get to know each other through various erotic encounters.  I must say, after blushing several times, I felt every emotion along the way. While the story is erotic in nature, there is an innocence in the characters that captivates the reader. The story is well written in parts from the dom’s point of view. The sexual scenes are sizzling hot!  I most enjoyed the fact that each part of the story details another encounter filled with stronger emotions and anticipation.  I admit, I felt the same anticipation as the characters on this journey.  Each steamy encounter builds on the previous, leading to the ultimate encounter.

You will also read A Writing Life another short erotic story and an excerpt of his upcoming piece called Finding Alice.  The poetry in this collection is sexy and steamy.  Tastefully written, this book, Transports of Delight, will transport you to the world of a dom and his sub and may answer those lingering questions you may have on this type of relationship. I must say, reading Benjamin’s writing has made me understand the dynamics of this lifestyle.

I gave this book 4.5 stars and recommend it to lovers of erotica and those curious to learn more.

Harding’s words paint those pictures in your mind.

My Review

If you haven’t read Interview with a Master by Jason Luke yet, then you need to get this book right away.  This book was not what I expected when I first read the title.  Honestly, I was intrigued by the title and some of the comments I had read on social media about the book.  Well….the book turned out to be an extremely interesting and brilliant read.

First of all, I love books written in the male point of view.  I think the male mind is fascinating.  Sometimes, comments made by men are surprising.  With that said, Jason Luke does a spectacular job of explaining his BDSM experiences from his point of view.  Not only is his book well written, he builds suspense for the reader.  I never wanted his interviews with Leticia to end.  He definitely builds “anticipation” throughout his book.  Additionally, I learned about BDSM. I can see the roles of the master and his sub through different eyes now.

The story was enlightening.  There were several lines that stood out as I read that were my favorite.

“Being taught the skills and thrills of sex by an older woman was one of the best things that could have happened to me, Leticia. I learned so muc h from her, and they were important lessons – lessons I stll remember and apply even today.”

“Leticia, there are no rules – apart from the safe, sane and consentual requirements I have already mentioned.  If those conditions are met, then a BDSM relationship can be as extreme or as borderline-vanilla as the people involved want it to be.”

“I understand what women need to make BDSM work in the bedroom.”

“A Master without a submissive is a guy. Just a guy. He needs someone who wishes to submit to him.”

“It’s not one thing about a woman that makes her sexy in my eyes, it’s a collection of things – an intoxicating fusion of the obvious and the subtle that merge together.”

“Anticipation is more potent than a whip and more compelling than handcuffs. The ability to tease and arouse a woman is a subtle skill few men ever bother to learn.”

“Being a good Master, in my book, is much more than meets the eye, and it’s much more than people outside of the lifestyle seem to really understand.”

Now, the ending was quite surprising.   Since I have learned that there will be another book, I am excited and am looking forward to more of The Master.

I recommend this book. I think readers will experience BDSM through different eyes.
