He lifted his head and when his gaze met hers, he smiled. Shy and sexy all at once, Cassie knew without question it was the sort of smile that meant nothing but trouble. The kind that got him whatever he wanted. The kind that was absolutely irresistible.

And as if that wasn’t enough, he had the whole sexy accent thing going for him.

The stranger leaned closer, close enough for her to smell the faint scent of his soap. It was clean and yet a little spicy and made her want to lick his neck. Because yeah, that was something a perfectly sane woman would do.

The energy between them crackled with anticipation. Then again, maybe it was all in her head. Maybe she’d finally read one too many romance novels and her brain was permanently rewired to think every handsome stranger had the potential to be Mr. Right. Or at the very least, Mr. Right Now.

A beat of silence ticked between them offering her the perfect opportunity to play it safe, to explain what she actually meant and end the whole matter with an awkward laugh. The melting of the snow brought about a mixture of emotions. Realizations I didn’t want to admit to. Awareness that dawned on me brighter than the noon sun back home in South Florida. Resistance to what was happening around me.
I’ve never been happier to be back at work, doing what I know and keeping my mind busy with tempos.
After the second night of being snowed in, Max left and prepared for a short trip to Germany. His words. Probably meant to ease me and inform me he’ll be back soon.
In my own silence, I analyze my world. I analyze my truths and my deceptions. I was living a life I was content with until recently. I was surviving without the constant memories drowning my mind. The insecurities I buried deep within not making an appearance.
Until now.
Now everything has resurfaced. Now every truth is exposed in the front of my mind, a cursing memory haunting me in case I had forgotten where I came from and who I was.
A rag-doll with loose threads barely keeping her together. Unsown by a seam ripper who fed off of her pain.
Anyway. Not having Max around has given me space. Space to think. Space to breathe. Space to hide. The glass shelters me despite its transparent state. The walls in my small room protect me. The men that walk in surrender to me. All of this makes for the perfect escape. An escape I am craving and dreading at the same time. Oh good God. Those words sent a chill down Genna’s spine, one she couldn’t hide, as Matty waved for the waitress. Eyes never leaving Genna, he ordered another round of drinks.

“Another?” she asked, picking up the water to take another sip, this one to soothe the sting in her chest. “You said one drink.”

A sly smile curved his lips. “I like to keep them coming.”

“Is that right?”

“Absolutely.” Matty stood, leaning across the table, his lips near her ear. “Maybe you’ll let me show you later.”

When Hannah removed her hand from my crotch, cooler air seeped through the denim. Then her soft lips touched my earlobe seconds before hard teeth tugged on it. She reached over to the ignition and twisted the key, cutting the engine. “We won’t need the heat for a while.”

She was right. Windows? Already fogging.

The coat that she’d been huddling under only seconds ago, slid off of her as she shifted and knelt onto her seat. She bundled up the woolen material and tossed it into the back.

I’d planned this trip to be amazing, to get my troubling dreams in line with my incredible reality, and when we hit a little black-ice speed bump? Hannah grabbed the wheel…

Trying a New Wine- Any thoughts??

As of Fan of Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James, I went through and actually highlighted all of the wines that were mentioned in the books.  I wanted to try them for myself.  Luckily, I did try several of them.  I liked some of them while others were hard to find locally.  I am still not done sampling them all.  The list was long.

Well, I just ordered the new 50 Shades of Grey Wines.

I ordered a bottle of each.  As soon as I try them out, I will share my thoughts on the wine.
