Tamed – by Emma Chase

tamed

Synopsis

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: girl meets player, they fall in love, player changes his ways.

It’s a good story. But it’s not our story. Ours is a lot more colorful.

When I met Dee I knew right away that she was special. When she met me, she thought I was anything but special—I was exactly like every other guy who’d screwed her over and let her down. It took some time to convince her otherwise, but turns out I can make a convincing argument when sex is at stake.

You might know where this story’s headed. But the best part isn’t where we ended up.

It’s how we got there.

TAMED goes back in time to the Tangled days. But this time around, it’s not Drew dishing out the advice and opinions—it’s his best friend Matthew, who of course is dealing with Dee Dee.

My Review

I love books written in the male point of view.  They are always so entertaining.  Tangled, the first book in this series by Emma Chase is one of those books that I truly loved.   I totally adore Drew from Tangled.  This series has become one of the most talked about among my friends and me.  So, when I received Tamed, I couldn’t wait to start reading it.  I knew Matthew, Drew’s best friend would be just as entertaining as Drew.  To my surprise, Matthew proved to be so much more.

This story was awesome!   All of the characters I loved from Tangled are back.  One of the reasons I loved it so much is because this story is taking place during the same time that Tangled does.   If you haven’t read Tangled, I recommend that you read it first.  There are bits of Tangled mixed in so it was great to relive those moments.  Dee, Steven, Alexandra A.K.A. The Bitch,  Drew, Kate,  Billy, and my favorite little girl Mackenzie make appearances in Tamed and are important in this story as well.

Let me get back to Matthew. Yes, he proved to be so much more.  He is the handsome eligible bachelor living in New York City.  He is Drew’s best friend.  Although they are similar. Matthew is different, in a good way.  I loved so many things about him.  Ok, so I have a new book boyfriend.  Matthew is successful, he spars, is fit, loves photography, drives a motorcycle, a Ducati, can dance and can cook.. Whoa…. perfection right?  I love a man who cooks!

Matthew meets Dee, Kate’s best friend.  This is their story.  While Dee, the beautiful and sexy rocket scientist may not want a relationship, Matthew falls under her spell. Dee turns his world upside down. Their story, from how they met, to their dating and their sexcapades is brilliantly written.  This story is filled with plenty of laugh out loud funny moments.  I really do want to share these moments in this review but, I am going to keep it spoiler free.

Matthew demonstrates to Dee that he is not like the guys she dated in the past.  The way he does this….. well, read the book.  One of my favorite scenes happens to be the Roller Skating Center scene.  I think after you read it, you will agree.

Dee, she wasn’t my favorite at first.  She may have a tough exterior but by the end of the story, I really loved her too.

This story has the unexpected making it an awesome must read book.  I admit, I read it twice before writing this review.  It was so awesome I wanted to relive those swoon-worthy moments shared by Matthew and Dee all over again.

Emma Chase never disappoints. Thanks for another fantastic story!

I highly recommend reading this book. So, be sure to add it to your TBR list today.

I gave this book 5 swoon-worthy stars!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Some of My Favorite Lines

“Two points for Dee- great tits and low maintenance. I think I’m in love.”

“I do have some great moves.  If banking doesn’t work out, Chippendale’s is Plan B.”

“By the end of the night, I’ll have you calling me God!”

“Tell me this is you,” She demands softly. “Tell me this is …real.”

She puts on the helmet, but doesn’t climb on the Ducati right away. She stands on the sidewalk, hands on her hips, looking thoughtfully at it. “What would you say if I said I wanted to drive your motorcycle to the party?”

“I’d say you’re shit out of luck. I don’t ride bitch.”

She knocks me upside the head—but my helmet softens the blow. “Then let me take it for a ride myself. Just around the block.”

“I . . .don’t think so.”

She pouts.

I sigh. “Have you ever driven a motorcycle before?”

“No, but I’ve always wanted to.”

“Well, I’ve always wanted to fly, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna strap on a squirrel suit and skydive from the god damn Empire State Building.”

She steps closer, and rubs her placating hands up my chest. “Come on, please? I’ll be really careful and grateful. Really grateful. Like . . .deviantly, let you handcuff me to the bed, kind of grateful.”

Forget the national broadcast system—this is the test. Am I going to stick to my man-guns, keep my pride, and protect my cherished vehicle from almost certain carnage? Or, am I going to be ruled by my dick and swayed by the promise of kinky, have-Dee-at-my-mercy-all-night-long, sex?

No contest.

“Riding bitch, it is.”
