In this highly anticipated follow-up to White Trash Damaged, Cass and Tucker have finally found their happily ever after, but can Eric, the band’s brooding drummer, ever let go of his past and find love?
From a small-town boy with fantasies of superstardom to rock star on tour with the suddenly famous band Damaged, Eric’s life has not been an easy journey. Now he struggles to let go of his past of physical abuse, a past that still haunts him. His anger is causing him to spiral out of control and he risks losing everything he has worked so hard for.

Only one person has ever gotten him to open up about his past: Sarah, the lead singer of Filth, the opening act on their first national tour—a fellow rocker with a confident façade that masks her own painful secrets. But their bands’ rocky past and Sarah’s tumultuous relationship with her bandmate and boyfriend Derek force her to keep Eric at a distance. As their friendship begins to grow into something more, Eric has to find a way to let go of his tortured past, or it could jeopardize his only chance for a happy future…

My Review

A Song for Us brings this wonderful trilogy to an end.  Writing this review is actually bittersweet for me.  I really love this series and would be thrilled to read more about the lives of these amazing characters created by Teresa.  This well written series has followed the lives of Cass and Tucker along with the other band members.  All of the characters have had their own personal struggles to deal with.  This last book, is the story of Eric, also known as “E”, Donna, the band manager, Sarah and Derek from the band Filth.

From the moment I started reading A Song for Us, I couldn’t put it down. I was so intrigued by Eric. I really wanted for him to find happiness. He really grew on me in the second book.  Cass and Tucker had found their own happiness so it was only fair that “E” would find his. Eric and Sarah have a special friendship/connection. Sarah is in love with Derek. I’ll spare you my feelings about Derek.  Both Eric and Sarah have troubling pasts and emotional damage to deal with.

Sarah and Eric have not kept in touch and some time has passed. They are reunited and their friendship/feelings come alive.  The chemistry between them is hot but Sarah is with Derek.  All along those special feelings between “E” and Sarah have meant more. Distance and Derek have made their friendship almost impossible. It is in this final book that we finally see “E” take a chance on love.

Let me warn you, there are enough twists in this story to make you dislike Sarah. Seriously, I wanted to just slap some sense into her. My heart went out for Eric.  Ups and downs will definitely keep you reading.

All of the band members are back in this book too. They played a vital part in this story. It was great to see Chris and Terry, the twins and how they played significant roles. (no spoilers) Together all of the characters were united for a common purpose and acted just like a family with each other.

Cass and Tuck, I love them. While this book may not be entirely focused on them, there is enough of their continued love story to make it enjoyable for the reader. I won’t tell you too much about them. Go read the book for yourself.

In the end, Eric and Sarah finally get a chance to deal with their pasts.  One of the things that I enjoyed so much about this book was the fact that they both had a chance to go back to their pasts and deal with the guilt and emotional baggage they carried around for so long.  So many details are revealed and clarified in this final book.

“Maybe we can help each other heal.”

Without giving too much away, this is an emotional story and one that I truly loved.  The ending was amazing!

“I don’t ever want to let you go.”

“I won’t let you.”

“We take it one day at a time.”

Thank you Teresa for such a wonderful trilogy.  This book, just like the others totally rocks!

I gave this book 5 rocking stars!

About the Author – Teresa Mummert

teresa mummert

I was a Russian spy at the ripe age of thirteen, given my uncanny ability to tell if someone was lying ( I also read fortunes on the weekends). By sixteen I had become too much of a handful for the Lethal Intelligence Ensemble (L.I.E.). I was quickly exiled to the south of France where I worked with wayward elephants in the Circus of Roaming Animals and People (C.R.A.P.). I was able to make ends meet by selling my organs on the black market for pocket change and beer money. At the age of twenty three I decided to expand my horizons and become a blackjack dealer in Ireland. I loved the family atmosphere at Barney’s Underground Liquor Lounge (B.U.L.L.). People couldn’t resist the allure of Liquor up front and poker in the rear. Eventually I became tired of the rear and headed off to the United States to try my hand at tall tales. That is what brings us here today. If you have a moment I’d like to tell you a story.
